The Atlanta Metro area which according to maps includes Conyers is one of the fastest growing in the country with projections for continued growth in the future. The vast majority of the growth is from individuals moving from outside of the state. They are moms and dads looking for affordable housing and less crowded schools for their kids, (yes believe it or not there are places in the country where schools are more crowded than our county), singles who came for college, fell in love with the climate and decided to stay and new graduates seeking a fertile job market in a part of the country that seductively promises the prefect symmetry of easy living at a just right fast pace.

Just a few of the reasons that folks are choosing to move to the Atlanta metro area but after you decide on the Atlanta metro area the job has just begun. The next obvious question is where specifically in the Atlanta metro area will you call home? And that leads me to the question that I ask our amazing guests numerous times a week….. Why Conyers?

Shealy and I choose Georgia and more specifically, Atlanta , more specifically, Rockdale, more specifically Conyers for the housing, schools and an opportunity to have something that we never had in New York City , community. But community like personal responsibility doesn’t usually come looking for you so we decided that we would create a vehicle that we could use to get at it and what better place than one that is a natural gathering place. You had to know I would find a way to tie this back to my favorite coffeehouse!

So now it’s your turn, Why Conyers?
I am an anomily, I am born and raised Georgian, I grew up in Decatur and moved here 15 years ago, I liked the feeling of living in the country but not to far from everything. I love the area and the schools have a lot to offer our 3 sons, I LOVE my house, and the street I live on there are 7 houses and I live in the middle of the woods!! I don't think I would live anywhere else in the world!!

Why Conyers?
It sounds like we went through a lot of the same considerations as Moose(sp?) when choosing the area.
I came for graduate training; I work in Atlanta. We chose this part of the country because we wanted what the southeast has to offer in climate, topography, proximity to our roots. So, Atlanta because it was the setting of (arguably) the best school in the southeast.
We have little boys. And we felt getting out of the perimeter might give them a chance to breathe. We looked everywhere, and after 7 or 8 months of looking (and looking, and looking, and ...) we found what seems to be the perfect blend in Olde Town.
So we are here in Conyers. My training will last for a few years; we are realizing now that we are here in the summer of our lives. We are in the best church we have ever been part of. We live in the nicest neighborhood we've ever lived in. And we are a short walk from the best coffee shop I've ever been to.
